Community Program Key Preceptors
Dr. Mary F. Powers is Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice within the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy. Dr. Powers holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Medical Sciences from the Medical College of Ohio (now the University of Toledo College of Medicine) as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and is a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio.
Dr. Powers has research interests in the area of community pharmacy practice, and she is principally interested in workforce issues associated with community pharmacy practice. She is especially interested in the effective use of pharmacy technicians and other support staff, with an interest in identifying the pharmacy technician's role in patient care practice models and safe medication practices. She is also interested in the careful expansion of the support role of pharmacy technicians especially related to financial issues such as third party reimbursement.
